Mount Carmel Falls

Sara and I went to Mt Carmel Falls since we had a day off for Thanksgiving Day. We drove about 45 minutes from our apartment with our friends Sean, Kristina, and Connor Kelly. We got there, and as with Grenada custom, some random people outside the entrance to the place decided that they needed to collect an entrance fee. We knew we didn't need to pay, so we just told them we didn't have anything to pay with. (Don't bring money with you to things like this in Grenada) It was a small hike about 10 minutes down a canyon like thing filled mango trees, huge bamboo plants, and coconut trees. When we got to the bottom of the canyon, we could see the multiple falls. First, it looked like a shallow river, just running over massive boulders. We heard that there were natural waterslides there, and we could see that we were in the right place, as in the rocks, there were little worn chutes, that were like slides. Sara found out quickly that the rocks were covered in moss to make them slippery when she slipped and slammed her back on one of them. Luckily, she only bruised her back and elbow. We decided it was one of the coolest places that we have been on the island to date.

Hello! I found you! Ha, that probably sounds kind of freaky. Anyway I just wanted to say hi! Hope you had a great Thanksgiving!

hi guys. miss and love you both. every time i see peter weir i miss jason because of physical and mannerism similarities. i loved the photos. the sticky humidity and disconnect from much of the culture doesn't come through--maybe you'll energetically become more islanderish as time goes on. happy studies. we are eager to see you soon. all our kids (and grandbaby Paige) are coming home for the holidays. Only Eric and Julia will still be here after mid-afternoon January 2. How long will you be in the states? can you come for dinner jan 2 or 3? ps cait has crushed on a boy all semester--they play together frequently but he has just asked her out on their first formal date--to see the Nutcracker Ballet in SLC.
